In the same year, it became member of the international network of unrelated bone marrow donor registries managed from the coordinating centre in Leiden, The Netherlands. CSCR is member of BMDW and WMDA. CSCR gradually established contacts and joined other cooperating registries and information networks: e.g. National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) in Minneapolis, USA in 1997 and European Marrow Donor Information System (EMDIS) in Ulm, Germany in 2003. CSCR searches in its database HLA matched donors for Czech and international patients as well. Donor testing is carried out in collaboration with the Department of Immunogenetics, IKEM. In 2010 HLA laboratory received a renewal of accreditation from EFI (European Federation For Immunogenetics). CSCR holds ISO 9001 certification dated September 2007. WHAT WE DO: Our services include all steps from search process to transplantation from unrelated donor. We also prepared some campaigns for recruitment of prospective unrelated donors of hematopoietic stem cells. Last year we released a new information leaflet and a new poster, we organized several information seminars for students from secondary schools. We also started our own Facebook profile and gathered many Facebook supporters. Together with the family of one of our patients we arranged a Photography Exhibition (aerial views) taken by the patient during his own flights above South Bohemia. The exhibition was held under the auspices of our Registry and took place in Tábor, České Budějovice and Prague. It was a charity event in support of the CSCR. JOINING THE REGISTRY: Donors who are willing to join CSCR registry can fill out the registration form on our website or they can contact us by phone, email or in person. After the recruitment/information session the donors are asked for a small blood sample for HLA typing. What’s new? For people who can’t make an appointment for blood drawing, we have prepared a SALIVA TESTING KIT and instructions for use which can be sent to them by mail. The donors are asked to send us back our registration form filled in and signed and the saliva sample. Address: Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine Czech Stem Cells Registry – Bldg.
