future generations. Our cultural and
natural heritage are both irreplaceable
sources of life and inspiration. Places as
unique and diverse as the wilds of East
Africa’s Serengeti, the Pyramids of Egypt,
the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the
Baroque cathedrals of Latin America make
up our world’s heritage.“2)

According to the official website of UNESCO, The
World Heritage List includes 981 sites all over
the world,3) of which 759 are cultural, 193
natural and 29 fit in both categories.
There is also so called tentative list (tentative
means not definite, not certain) which includes
nominations for World Heritage List.
