SSEM VALTIC ISSEM XXIVth International Summer School of Early Music Valtice 7th - 15th July 2012 Renaissance & Baroque Lute class Valtice Castle The International Summer School of Early Music is organized by the Early Music Society (CR), in cooperation with the Town of Valtice and the Valtice Castle (zámek Valtice). SSEM VALTICE Parish Church in Valtice South Moravia, Czech Republic WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF EARLY MUSIC? ISSEM is the largest early music interpretation course with the longest tradition in the CR and the world-wide reputation. WHEN? From Saturday, July 7th (afternoon check-in) to Sunday, July 15 th, 2012 (morning departure) WHERE? In Valtice, South Moravia, heart of the Valtice-Lednice district included in the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1996, famous for its wine and numerous places of historical interest as well as opportunities for relaxation. FOR WHOM? For students, teachers, professional and non-professional musicians interested in gaining new experience in the early music and historical dance practice. TUTORS? Higly respected musicians from several European countries. PROGRAMME? • mornings – main class-work • afternoons – chamber music, choral singing, historical dancing for everybody, lectures, listening seminars • evenings – concerts by guest musicians, tutors and, at the end of the course, by the course members – at the Valtice Castle, in the parish church or at some other lovely place • after the concerts – joyful late-night dancing and/or good wine in one of the numerous local wine cellars. ORGANISED BY? Early Music Society (CR) founded in 1982 with the aim to support early music studies and performance, and to supplement the education curricula of the Czech music schools.
