LH-1V Line splitter
LH-1V LINE SPLITTER M-1 MODEM V.24 M-1 MODEM V.24 M-1 MODEM V.24 • Divides a V.24/modem connection into 2 interfaces • V.24/modem interfaces congurable • Asynchronous 4-wire data transfer • Bypass function • 0-100,000 bits/s, code-transparent • Galvanic insulation, transient protection • Mounting rail assembly • 24V DC operating voltage The asynchronous LH-1V line splitter executes one data regeneration within a M-1 modem connection, and allows simultaneous, isolated data extraction to a V.24/RS232 or a further M-1 modem interface. Because of the freely congurable interfaces, the line splitter can be used not only in modem connections but also as a V.24 interface multiplier or as a V.24 interface in an M-1 modem connection. Thus, a centre with several addressed ofces may also communicate over longer distances reliably and without problem. Furthermore, several addressed input devices with V.24/RS232 interfaces, distributed among several buildings, may be combined to form one common network. The data ow direction supports any master/slave and multimaster (token-passing) protocols. The information contents and protocols are not inuenced by the short device running times of the line splitter. The distance between two line splitters may be up to 21 km, because of the 4-wire modem connection, the data connection being galvanically isolated by the optocoupler interfaces. The data are transmitted in regenerated form after each line splitter. In the event of a power failure the line splitter is bridged under relay control so that the modem connection is restored without data regeneration. This bypass function provides a high degree of data security. The transient protection in the line splitter provides effective protection against lightning and overvoltages, and the galvanic insulation provides protection in the case of potential differences. The LH-1V is designed for 35 mm DIN mounting rail assembly and operates at an operating voltage of 24V DC. The line splitter is mounted on the support rail by means of an assembly base consisting of a retaining device for the rail and a screw terminal strip for the interface connections and supply voltage. The devices are plugged directly on to the assembly base, thereby providing automatic contact with the connections. This assembly base guarantees simple installation or device replacement. The signal status is displayed by means of LED’s (Power, TD, RD and DCD) on the front panel. The LH-1V meets the most stringent requirements regarding reliability, operation and performance, and because of the simple conguration of the interfaces the device can be installed without problem.
